A recente Escola de Hotelaria e
Turismo de Lisboa ocupou as antigas instalações da Escola Industrial Machado
Castro, em Campo de Ourique, Lisboa.
Com uma localização privilegiada e
com um hotel de aplicação – o Hotel da Estrela – esta escola procura aliar as
aulas teóricas com a componente pratica em contexto real.
A reabilitação deste edifício ficou
a cargo da arquitecta Teresa Nunes da Ponte e os interiores do Hotel foram
pensados pelo arquitecto Miguel Câncio Martins.
O restaurante “Cantina da Estrela”
e o Hotel estão abertos ao publico e na escola há a possibilidade de participar
em workshops.
The recent Tourism School of Lisbon occupied the former premises of the Industrial
School Machado Castro, in Campo de Ourique, Lisbon.
With a prime location and a hotel application - Hotel da Estrela - this school seeks to combine the theoretical with the practical component in the real world.
The rehabilitation of this building was the responsibility of the architect Teresa Nunes da Ponte and the interiors of the hotel were designed by architect Miguel Câncio Martins.

O que mais gosto na decoração do
Hotel é o facto de terem sido aproveitadas peças de mobiliário que pertenciam à
antiga escola industrial. A recepção ficou com um estilo clássico e contemporâneo
ao mesmo tempo, as peças escuras ganham vida e mais destaque com os sofás brancos
e o pavimento preto. A iluminação dá o toque actual que faltava!
What I like in the decor of the hotel is that they have reused pieces of
furniture that belonged to old industrial school. The reception is a mix of classic
and contemporary, the dark pieces come to life and became more prominently with
white sofas and black floor. The lighting gives the touch that was missing!
